Yuva Sangam programme Phase 5
Hyderabad: A group of 50 students from various universities and colleges across Telangana has embarked on a transformative journey to NIT Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh as part of the fifth phase of the Yuva Sangam program. The send-off ceremony, held at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), was a vibrant occasion marking the beginning of an enriching cultural and educational exchange.
Yuva Sangam, a flagship initiative under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) program, seeks to promote national integration by fostering understanding and unity among the diverse regions of India. This unique initiative allows students to experience different cultures, traditions, and technological advancements across the country.
The Telangana contingent, which comprises students from a wide range of academic disciplines, will spend seven days in Himachal Pradesh. The program offers a blend of cultural exploration, technological insights, and social interaction, focusing on five key themes: Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Tradition), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect), and Prodyogiki (Technology).
Prof Fazulur Rahman, In-charge Vice-Chancellor of MANUU, addressed the students during the send-off ceremony, highlighting the significance of the Yuva Sangam initiative. He emphasized that the program was more than just tourism - it is a platform for young minds to connect with India's rich cultural heritage and developmental progress. By immersing themselves in the traditions and landscapes of Himachal Pradesh, the students would gain a deeper understanding of India’s diversity and its collective achievements.
Prof Mohammad Fariyad, Dean of Mass Communication at MANUU and the Nodal Officer for Yuva Sangam in Telangana, also spoke to the students. He encouraged them to actively engage with the local communities, learn from their experiences, and contribute to cross-cultural exchange. He stressed that Yuva Sangam is a journey of self-discovery, offering personal growth through meaningful cultural interactions.
The importance of this initiative extends beyond cultural exploration. As India plays an increasingly significant role on the global stage, fostering national identity and unity is essential. Programs like Yuva Sangam strengthen regional bonds and equip the youth with the skills needed to navigate an interconnected world.
The flag-off ceremony also saw Nandini Agasara, a bronze medalist and the chief guest, speak about the program’s impact. She praised Yuva Sangam for providing young people with an opportunity to contribute to nation-building by deepening their understanding of India's diverse heritage.
Meraj Ahmad, Assistant Nodal Officer for the Yuva Sangam program, highlighted that this initiative is a holistic experience, combining cultural immersion, social interaction, and academic learning. He emphasised that the students will not only learn about Himachal Pradesh's unique culture but also strengthen the bonds between India’s various regions.
The Telangana students left with a sense of excitement and anticipation, eager to experience a transformative journey that will contribute to their personal and intellectual growth.
